What is the Schmieding Center?
Representing a collaborative effort of the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging (RIOA) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Northwest Health System, the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education is a premier community-based center for healthy living in the second half of life. The Schmieding Center addresses the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and lifestyle needs of older adults with care, compassion, and competency.
From where does Schmieding Center receive its operational funding?
The Schmieding Center is a non-profit organization moving towards long-term self-sustainability. The generosity of the Springdale-based Schmieding Foundation, based on a limited grant through a donation by Lawrence H. Schmieding, has been the primary funding source for the Schmieding Center. With the lifetime of the grant designated to support the Schmieding Center through its formative years coming to a close, the future of the Schmieding Center depends heavily on the support of the community through grants and donations.
