Hosted Event
A hosted event is planned by the Schmieding Center in collaboration with organizations for the benefit of UAMS, UAMS partners, and/or the general public. Hosted events occur during normal Schmieding Center business hours and are open to the general public, usually at no cost for participation. There is no facility use charge for hosted events; however, donations are greatly appreciated to offset facility expenses.
Sponsored Event
A sponsored event is planned by organizations without the involvement of Schmieding Center, UAMS, or UAMS partners, but is, in the final determination of Schmieding Center administration, an event that closely aligns with the goals of the Schmieding Center for service to health professionals or the general public. Events by organizations that collect tuition or membership fees from event participants will not be sponsored. Organizations may not collect registration fees for public participation; however, the cost of continuing education or certification fees may be collected. Sponsored events occur during normal Schmieding Center business hours. Sponsored events will be charged a daily facility usage rate in four- or eight-hour blocks.
Use Event
A use event is planned by organizations without the involvement of the Schmieding Center, UAMS, or UAMS partners and is, in the final determination of Schmieding Center administration, an event that does not closely align with the goals of the Schmieding Center for service to health professionals or the general public, but is scheduled primarily for the benefit of the planning organization. ALL WEEKDAY AFTER-HOURS RESERVATIONS BEGIN AT 5 pm. Use events will be charged an hourly facility usage rate.
