Giving to the UAMS Reynolds Institute on Aging

In 20 years, one in four Arkansans will be 65 years old or older, and this group will be the number one consumer of health care. At the same time, the number of 85-year olds will have nearly tripled and many will be dependent on others to meet their daily needs.  America will face the biggest health care crisis in its history. So we need your support at the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.

Already on any given day, 60% of the patients in the UAMS Medical Center hospital are older adults, and this percentage will continue to rise. We know that older patients appreciate being treated as unique individuals who often have complex, interrelated conditions and needs. At the Reynolds Institute on Aging, our patients know they will be under the skilled care of an interdisciplinary team of professionals who are well-schooled in the unique health needs of older adults.

At the UAMS Reynolds Institute on Aging, we see older men and women who are discovering a new zest for life and who are gaining the confidence to improve their own health. They seek us out and keep coming back because our doctors prescribe realistic treatment for patients their age and avoid unnecessary procedures and medications. We believe we owe our older citizens the opportunity to live healthy, happy and productive lives for as long as possible.

There are many ways you can help us prepare to meet the needs of the aging baby-boomers in our clinical, research and educational programs.

Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts of any size are used to support the ongoing efforts and new programs of the Reynolds Institute.  They are particularly important because they help to fund new projects for which money was not budgeted, and can be used as needed.

Honor Gifts
You can honor a friend, loved one or a member of the Reynolds Institute staff with your contribution.  A letter is sent to the person you designate telling them of your gift.  It is a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or special occasion – your gift “gives” twice!

Memorial Gifts
Your contribution, given in memory of a loved one, friend, etc., is especially meaningful.  You may give an unrestricted memorial, or you may designate that it be used in a specific area.  A letter is sent to the family, whomever you request, telling them of the gift.

Giving to Chairs, Professorships, Specific Programs
You may designate how you want your gift to be used.  The gift can be added to an existing endowment or you can add to efforts to create an endowed chair, professorship, etc.  Endowments are very lasting gifts.
